Computer Forensics

Computer Forensics is the methodical and painstaking examination of digital media such as hard disks, USB sticks, and memory cards, with a view to establishing certain facts, such as the presence or absence of particular documents or activities, or the contents of particular files. BDI can produce bit-for-bit images of hard disks, or extraction of specific files, or complete analysis of a disk subsystem including recovery of data which has ostensibly been "deleted". We make our findings available as agreed with the client, which can be a simple one-page report up to a full presentation complete with mirror copies of the evidence.

Our evidence-gathering has a full audit trail and we use peer-reviewed processes to ensure integrity and continuity of evidence. Every step of the analysis is fully documented, in strict adherence to the ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) guidelines for the handling of computer based evidence and the copied data can be shown to be 100% accurate.
